Praying for our Leaders

We need Esthers, Josephs, Nehemiahs, and Daniels these days. Luke, the
gospel writer, was a doctor. Stephen was a businessman full of the Spirit and
wisdom! It is not abnormal for God to anoint people in business and
government. Government officials need (and want) prayer. We need some who will go to work as an agent of peace in the city hall, in law enforcement, in city
management so that God's grace can travel there and flourish. Who will take the
point and carry the banner of transformation into these crucial areas of
responsibility.

What if all the decisions and actions taken at a city level were bathed
in prayer and God's counsel was sought on everything? We need people who will
pray specifically for our leaders and their work! Redding is to become a city
whose government rests on the shoulders of the King. Many cities are turning
their Key over to Jesus. We believe Redding will soon follow suit. But,
more than declarative acts, we need people on the inside who listen to God and
minister boldly. Even if He opens the floodgates, we will need solid, stable
Christian people to shepherd the movements from within the halls of the city
offices.

If you are in government circles, you are a key person for the Kingdom in
Redding. Whether you're the janitor or the mayor, God wants to use you there
- we can show you how and encourage you in the battle.

"We stopped cursing our president and decided to fast and pray for
40 days that God would bless him and our nation!" Argentine believers, 2001
