Imagine driving into a town and being told, “This is a town where there’s an intentional group of caring, praying Christians on site shepherding every single neighborhood, campus, business, and interest group.  Practically everybody in town is being prayed for by name and blessed on a daily basis. Not only that, but the pastors of the local fellowships actually love one another, seek to spend time praying together and have become friends. ‘Extraordinary miracles’(see Acts) are happening in daily settings because God is pouring out His favor on a community where brethren are dwelling together in unity.  More come into the Kingdom between Monday and Saturday than on Sundays now!  Prayer encounters are visibly occurring all around town.  Public worship gatherings are commonplace.  Government and education officials seek out the CHURCH’s partnership because, ‘whenever they get involved, the situation simply improves!’  Business leaders are turning to the “Daniel’s” (those who pray and hear from God) for wisdom as to how to conduct business.  Many board meetings are prayer-filled.  The Zacchaeuses are coming into the Kingdom, repenting and making restitution.  The needy are fewer and fewer.  Darkness, rather than increasing, is fading as the Light of Christ dawns ever brighter.  The negative societal numbers are all decreasing as the numbers of those being added to the CHURCH daily grows.”  The net result is that everyone in town is seeing transformation firsthand!

That, by faith, is Redding, in the not too far distant future!

What will it take?
Prayer and a lot of working together.  It will require a massive number of beachheads of Light in every sector of town and an army of faith-filled, unrelenting warriors.  This cannot happen without a linking together.  The people are already deployed and in position.  Now we must connect them and encourage them to take their battlefield fearlessly.  It is out of the question (and unlikely in God’s economy) for any ONE fellowship to consider doing this sizable task alone.  The uniqueness and distinctiveness we each have are still valid, and yes, we all must continue to perform the duties God has called us to in our separate arenas.  But this is Redding, and God is doing something here that is beyond the scope of church as we know it.

This is an exciting moment and an exciting place to live and minister!!  Today, we have the opportunity to band together in faith and believe that “nothing is impossible for God!”  Not even this.  Why not us?  Why not now?
